A gent by the name of Dan S. reached out to me recently via Dockside to share pictures of his Thompson which he refinished. Dan's been trying to get registered here to share his experience, so while he gets that worked out he gave me permission to steal all the thunder and post these pics!
Located in Seattle WA on Lake Union, she's right at home next to the house boat. Especially with that Merc!
She's a sweetie!
Here's what he started with......

Hi Everybody - This is Dan. Andreas, she's a 17' 1962 Sea Lancer, with '62 Merc 1000. The engine cover in the pic is from a later year, holding place while I redo the original '62 cover.
I see you chose not to replicate the original padded "eye brows" on the dash but instead make a wooden version.
There was a very nice pair of original ones for sale at the Thompson Boat Rally in 2011. I have a pair of the padded ones that were salvaged from a junker boat. Really sad condition and could only be used as patterns for new ones.
Those "eye brows" were only used on 1962 Sea Lancer and Off-Shore models.
Finally got around to posting photos of the restoration on photobucket. (Thanks Peter for cluing me in to this!) Naturally I didn't document all the work as well as I coulda or shoulda, but I did manage to take some photos along the way. jwb65 and Barry - thanks for the compliments! Karl - You're right, LOVE the yellow boats! Here's the link (hope it works): http://s1251.photobucket.com/albums/hh5 ... ?start=all
