Installed keelson this morning to allow transportation of boat to new location at Lake Hartwell garage. Plan is to install some plywood from stem to transom and secure to keelson and frames temp. so I do not loose the shape in transport or do any damage.
Any suggestions will be appreciated on how to shore up for transport on boat trailer.
Andreas put a photo of frames being installed at the factory on a previous post. It looked like the middle board of the keelson was installed without being the final shape/bevel. This is what I have done and plan to plane the board to match the frames once new frames are installed.
I need to order silicon bronze fasteners now. Where to order?
Should I replace the carriage bolts in the stem? I snugged these up and they appear to be fine?

The Classic Boat Connection has the fastners you will need. If you google them it will bring up their catalog on line. Good people to deal with.
You might as well replace the carriage bolts as well, they have these also.

Do some diagonal bracing of the cockpit to help the boat keep it shape. With amount of strakes still attached you should have no problems.
Looks great so far.

Also, hopefully you are going to transport the boat in it's current upside down position.
You can still use the boat trailer just add some 4x4 beams for cross members and rest the boat on the gunnels and strap it down.
