Pulled a "free" boat home yesterday. No doubt its a SeaCoaster, it says so right on the dash. The PO claims its a 1962, but its been through 3 give aways and no paper work

Specs:
Lenght 16' 5"
Beam at widest 6' 6"
Hull ID H40097 (stamped inside starboard transom)
Serial plate 24699 (aluminum plate, inside starboard transom, also says "Thompson Bros, Boat Mfg Co, Peshtigo, WI)

Couldn't find a red capacity plate

It is in real tough shape, the bottom is completely rotten.

I guess its a 1964 from the Hull ID

Yup, she is a 1964 model year bot. Both hull ID and serial number fit in the 1964 model eyar range.

Hull ID "H40097" indicates the 97th boats made in the model year 1964. The "H" is a code for the guy in the factory in charge of getting this boat out the door.

The 97th boat of the 1964 model year was probably built in September 1963.

Thanks for the info Andreas. Given the boat's condition, I am going to need a lot of help with the restoration. I will start a new thread in the resto. section, but a quick question: is it better to replace the bottom upside down or right side up? I have to get it off the trailer soon, the bottom is deflecting pretty bad under the helm where the forward bunk is.

Much easier to do it with the boat upside down.
