The Thompson CD ROM shows the specs for the 1957 Cruisers Inc. 16' boats as up to 60hp using single or twin motors. The Fiberglassics web site ( Cruisers Inc. ) shows a page out of I don't know what but lists the 1957 Commodore as up to 110hp. Can anyone tell me what the Fiberglassics page is from and why the different hp ratings? Thank You

Those two sheets in the fiberglassics.com Library are from a circa 1963 Blue Book on boat values.

The 1957 Cruisers, Inc. brochure shows the Commodore model 300 at 16'-1" centerline length. The Seafarer 200 and 202 were 15'-1" centerline length. I do not find any HP ratings for any of the boats. In 1958 the Sefarer increased in length to 15'-9 1/2" and is listed for rating up to 75 HP. The Commodore 300 became the Commander 300 with length of 16'-1" and rated for up to 110 HP.

Yes the '57 Commodore is 1" more than the 16' and 60hp referred to in the Thompson CD ROM. On page 3 of the 1957 Cruisers catalog in Construction Features it has the hp ratings for the boats and mentioned 60hp for up to 16'. The 16' and 16'1" is so close that I just wanted to make sure I wasn't hanging too much motor on the boat. Thanks

The "16 ft." boats were NOT 16 ft. long. In 1957 they were 15'-1" centerline length and in 1958 they werer 15'-9 1/2" long. All boat companies round up when describing the length.
