Would You Stain The Splash Rails??
The splash rails seem to be oak. Were these originally stained or left natural? Why would they use oak for splash rails on a '57 Cruisers Inc. Just wondering, thanks.
I would imagine that the splash rails were Philippine mahogany on a 1957 Cruisers, Inc. boat, not white oak.
They are typically stained and varnished to match the other s & v compoents such as transom and windshield frame... That's what they appear to be in the 1957 brochure. They are not painted.
