Is it possible Cruisers Inc just varnished over the mahogany without staining first? Their boats didn't seem to be very dark in color at all. If you want a close to original finish it seems that most of the stains are too dark. Just wondering, thanks

Never seen one without stain. The deck and covering boards and transom and windshield frame and seats are all stained and varnished. The interior of the planking and ribs is NOT stained. It is varnished only.
