What length/model?

I just obtained at 1958 Thompson of Peshtigo 18'-1" Off-Shore. A piece of JUNK! She goes into storage today for a "someday" restoration.

Finally made the deal and the rig is home. Over two years to make this happen. The story goes that the son was gonna get to fixin it but never got around to it. Glad it was covered but still was outside in the weather.

Here is a photo showing the dash and seats.

Ron,

Looks like a nice one. Doesn't look like any real major problems from the pictures you posted. How is the bilge area? As sound as what we see in the pictures?

Good Luck,

Phill

Cool! I have a '59 Peshtigo built Sea Coaster 475 sitting outside here. Might be nothing more than a parts boat.

Pulled up the floor today and what I found was not good.
Looks like I may be doing some rib repair with a steam box.

The inner keel/keelson will need new wood new too.

This spot is under the front seat .

I will wash and bleach out the bilge . Then after it dries I get to repairing things. I had a feeling that I was going to find plenty of rot. I got the boat for only small amount of money so I don't feel to bad. This will be good one to work on for a while. Just gonna take some doing.

I found the hull number today. Looks to be a 1957 model.
Image

The transom is 53 1/2 wide.
Measured around the gunnel it is 15' 10"

Sea Coaster ?

I wonder why it has large metal Thompson Plates for the sides ? A 1957 had small ones.

The wet deck. Nice large horn. Big mast for burgee.

725th boat of all models made in 1957. "J" was code for the guy that worked on this boat.

Sea Coaster models were 16'-0" gunwale length in 1957 with about 15'-3" centerline length. "Mist green" was the standard hull colour with white as an option.

Looks like a nice one when it is finished... keep us posted!

I just got back from a week in the 1,000 islands in upstate NY. Went to the Clayton Antique boat show and saw some beauties.

Got a line on a marina there that has a lot of old parts and hardware. Went to visit and found a lot of stuff there... but not cheap... the same horn you have was $200 dollars... so hold on to it!!
