I neglected to ask what brand name glue is recommended to glue dowels in. Any suggestions?
Also, I am unable to find Philippine mahogany veneer in Michigan. Everyone stocks African mahogany. Is there a difference? I only need two small pieces (7" X 14" grain running L to R on long side, 7" X 11" grain running L to R on short side). If anyone can help me, or if you have any scrap pieces that would fit my requirements, let me know. Thanks

Any carpenter's wood glue is fine, waterproof type. Probably do not want to use any of the expanding type glues such as Gorilla Glue in this application.

Okume and Meranti plywood are very close to Philippine mahogany. No one makes Philippine mahogany plywood as far as I know.
