I have much to varnish before I am on the water this spring. Could anybody share with me a good method to do so when the weather just does not want to warm up. I believe that it needs to be above 50 to varnish, right. And of course for any of you in Chicago or north this has not been the case. Does anybody Varnish in the house? The parts I need done can be taken indoors but I am reluctant to do so because of the fumes. Am I correct in this concern? Thank you for your info.

Read the can of varnish. It will give temperature ranges. I don't think I'd varnish in less than 60 degree F temperatures. And the items being varnished need to be at that temperature, not just the air around 'em.

I have taken items in the house to varnish. In the basement. And my office is also in the basement and the rooms are not completely separated from each other. And I work at home.

I don't mind the fumes! But then again, maybe I am a bit loooopy??!!
