I have a toggle switch above the ignition, and below that it says "ignition on".
It only switches to the right.
Below my ignition key it says "Engine Overheated".
Last summer being the first for my scow and me, I puttered with the toggle switch and it does nothing. I can't remember if it is wired to anything.
There is nothing in the shop manuals on this deal.
I have a 1969 Johnson 85hp.
Any ideas?
John is correct. It is for an electric choke. As far as the engine overheated, on these older Johnson Evinrude's there was a red light that went with the ignition panel that was connected to a sensor on the engine head. It would light if the engine got to hot. Mike
