Having a devil of a time setting the timing on a 1959 60hp McCulloch Flying Scott outboard. I have the manual but my ignition system isn't doing what the manual says it should in setting the timing. If you know anything about this motor, or think you know someone who does, please contact me?

There is a discussion forum at www.aomci.org under the "Ask A Member" icon. Maybe post your quesiton there, if you have not done so already. Also try www.fiberglassics.com becasue I know there are folks that frequent that discussion forum with Scott Atwater outboards.

After a long, cold, snowy winter in Wisconsin, the Flying Scott finally came alive with the help of Dick Davis of Arizona. My timing issue was no match for Dick this past Sunday when he directed the fix for the motor over the phone. Thanks, Dick. Another Flying Scott is among the living thanks to you!
