Ron,
Here is a photo of a '60 Sea Mate that was for sale at an MI dealer a while back. The listing stated that the interior was redone and NOT correct. Just thought I'd relay it to you for comparison.
Personally, I prefer as much natural wood as possible, which means earlier boats, but you are restoring a piece of history presented as they were originally produced in that year. That is a lot of work and you should be gratified by the results you have achieved. I'd love to see your boat in person someday..
It has been a busy summer. The boat still is not complete. But that didn't stop me from a ride!! My son and I launched it with no problems. It started and ran very well. I took it out on the bay here and enjoyed the cruise.
I took it slow . My son was asking to go faster.
He then asked if He could drive. Sure can!
Priceless!!
Maybe next weekend I will take it out with others and get some better pictures. I'm very happy with this project. Good Times for sure.

Ron,
We have gotten a Sea Mate just like this for our EMCBC (Eagle Mountain Classic Boat Club) winter project. Ours seems to have a fir or pine windshield, I think some one has made a copy at sometime. Yours is mahogany is it not?
I will post a new subject soon on this restoration.
Thanks Dan

Installed windshield with the new vinyl/rubber.
Installed the convertible top.
Got the rubrail and trim strips on the boat too.
Very enjoyable project. Couple small item to get finished.
