I assume that the number is the same as stamped into the wood of the transom, inside the boat. If yes, she is a 1964 model year boat.

Model 302 is the Commander.

Cruisers Yachts has hull cards for boats built after circa 1962. They may have one for this boat. It will give the build date, ship date and to whom it was shipped (dealership).

I haven't found the stamp in the transom yet but I assume that it's there.

Also the planking on this boat has some kind of coating on it. It appears to have been put on before the laps wee installed. The putty for filling the screw holes is on top of it. Has anyone seen this before and if so what is it? Thanks MIke

There is a paper overlay on top of the plywood. It is to make a very smooth surface for painting. Do NOT sand thru this paper. It will make a mess. Crezone was one brand name.

Almost all plywood lapstrake boat builders were using this stuff by about 1963.
