I have seen two different versions of the metal Thompson badges, one has just the bird with the name Thompson, and the other is the same with "Bros. of Peshtigo, Wisconsin" under the Thompson name. Which badge goes with which boats? Is it based on year or where the boat was built?

The one with the "Bros. of Peshtigo, Wis." goes on boats built AFTER about 1962. This version is NOT appropriate for boats earlier than circa 1962.
The "Thompson" only is for 1962 and earlier boats. There were two sizes of these as well. Smaller ones for smaller boats and bigger ones for bigger boats.
Oh by the way - this applies to boats made by Thompson Bros. Boat Mfg. Co. of Peshtigo only - not Cortland's Thompson Boat Company of New York, Inc.
