Dear Fellow Restorers,

I have my new wood windshield installed on my 1963 Sea Lancer and I'm ready to install the side window glass. I have purchased new gasketing offered on the Club's website.

What type of bedding or chaulk do you use in combination with the gasket to secure the glass??

Any advice and suggestions would be appreciated.

Charles,

I do not think they used any bedding compound or chaulking. The gasket kept the glass in and it seals against the outside of the glass. But I would think you could use regular window putty to set the glazing in if you wanted to.

Anyone else have more knowledge on this then I do?

No puddy is needed.Some soapy water can help with getting the new molding into the channel. You can make some releif cuts on the groves that go behind your curved sections. Put the gap in middle of the bottom.Again No Caulk!

Yup, NO caulk or putty. It's just a pressure fit.
