How long after stain to varnish

Finally applied the filler stain to the decks of the Grady..how long should I wait to apply the first coat of thinned varnish to seal it?

A few days - depending upon heat and humidity. I use Old Salem Sealer on top of the stain, before applying any varnish.

Do you thin the sealer for thr first coat?

I do not thin the Old Salem Sealer. I do thin the subsequent coats of varnish.
