1959 Holiday 250 Restoration Complete
Hi All,
I wanted to share some photos of my restoration project of my 1959 Holiday 250. There are still a few items to be complete (1958 Mercury Mark 75 Inline 6, bezel for speedometer, & rubrail end caps). I cannot wait until the spring to get her in the water. This was my first and possibly last restoration. The project took 3 summers and about 335 hours to complete but was well worth it.

Now that the weather is getting warmer and the ice is breaking up I am chomping at the bit to get my Holiday in the water. I am working on getting her registered and am looking for advice for an appropriate font for the registration number for a 1959. Any recommendations would greatly be appreciated!

Beautiful job Pete! Your trailer looks just like mine. How did you add that tongue wheel? Mine could certainly use one.

Thanks Guys!
Verne, the tongue wheel is actually original, I got luck it was on there. It is however a death trap, not sure what they were thinking when they came up with the design. Now I need to get working on restoring the trailer.

Not sure what you mean by a death trap. I"d think it would be great for moving the trailer around with out lifting it.

Re: 1959 Holiday 250 Restoration Complete
The way it was designed is in a manner that when you lift the tongue you can then flip the wheel up in the opposite direction for travel purposes vs. a crank like you commonly see. To move it using the wheel it works great in one direction however to move it in the opposite direction many times the wheel will want to flip to it's up position therefore ending up landing the tongue on the ground or as a few times has happened my foot.

I saw that the wheel was an option in the Gator catalog. I guess it wasn't designed that well.....
Re: 1959 Holiday 250 Restoration Complete
Does anyone know the correct color of yellow for these Gator trailers?
