fuel tank location

Post by gaff »

Good morning

I am starting to install the insides of the boat and getting everything set up before I install the deck. Rear seat and dash are fitted.

This is a tiny boat and I am not small and was thinking about weight distribution.

Is there any reason I cant put the fuel tank in the bow of the boat. I was thinking of creating a cradle to set it in and run the line under the deck to the motor.

Thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Steve,

I see no problem with mounting the gas tank in the bow. It will help distribute the weight evenly and it will give you better top end speed.

Go for it!

Good Luck,

No big deal in my opinion. I have a 10 gallon built in tank in the bow of my 1957 Thompson of Peshtigo 16'-7" Sea Lancer. There is a copper fuel line that goes from the tank to the rear of the boat.
