Re: Disassemble steering wheel?

For future reference, the cap on this model twists off (there is a small machine screw on the underside of the center of the cap, which threads into the center of the shaft of the steering column).

Disassemble steering wheel?

I have a 1967 Peshtigo Sea Coaster that is almost finished after nine years(!). I'm trying to disassemble the steering wheel assembly, and cannot get the cap in the center of the wheel off. It does not unscrew and there is no retaining ring in sight. Does it just pop off? (Have tried to pry it off b...

Nails for covering board on 67 Sea Coaster

Where can I find nails for the covering boards for my 67 Sea Coaster? The originals are 1" and have a narrow t-type head. Any suggestions?

Half-round bedding?

On my 1967 Sea Coaster (Peshtigo), the half-round trim on the sheerstrake seems to have some sort of plastic sheeting between it and the sheerstrake. Is there a particular type that was/should be used, or should I just use bedding compound instead?

Thanks.

MDO replacement

I'm replacing the garboard planks on a 1967 Seacoaster. The original planking is MDO plywood.

Boulter's does not have marine-grade MDO. Does anyone know where I can get some, or have a suggestion about what non-MDO marine ply I should use instead?
