Re: 1963 Sea Coaster Deluxe project

Good for you. Where there's a will. There's a way.
Nice use of the coleman. I used a turkey fryer setup for mine.
Keep at it.

Re: 1963 Sea Coaster Deluxe project

Rull of thumb for steaming is one hour per inch of thickness. When I bent my ribs which were approx. a half inch thick I steamed then for 30 Minutes. Not knowing how much experience you have with this I will offer some unsolicited thoughts from my steaming experience. 1.DO NOT totaly block off the e...

Re: Lubricate remote controls

If you can remove the cable from the sheathing then lube is fairly easy :D What I did with mine was to extend the cable all the way out at the motor end and apply a liberal coating of 90 weight gear oil. Then I attached the end to the rafters and let gravity do it's thing. Also kept working the cont...

Nice.
And here I thought that I was the only one :D
You have been holding out on us Jall.
I sure you know that the pullcord doors are being recast and are available.
Getting ready to install my twin engine dash plate this evening.
One more thing off the list.

Re: Twin engine dash plate.

PM me with a mailing address Andreas and I will certainly make a copy and send you one.
From the pic you can see some water damge to the instruction sheet but still very readable.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Re: Fixing newbie screw up?

Not sure in regards to the construction on a 64 Thompson but did you have the dash as well as the deck supports out? As Andreas has said you should be able to pull it back into shape. These boats are like a cube. Quite solid and strong when all the sides (pieces) are in place. But remove one and the...

Re: The twins are onboard.

Well as of Monday I will have the 2nd rarest Twin engine dash plate in exsistence. Right behind Andreas. :D :D :D :D
Thanks to Joe B (for the reminder) I was able to get one via the AOMCI site. Same place I found my Javelin hoods.
Once it is installed I will post some pics.

Re: The twins are onboard.

Long time reader and first time poster! I am a Merc guy but I must say nothing looks as cool as a pair of Golden Javelins! Beautiful work and thanks for sharing!! Thanks for the compliments guys. Offshore, these are on the back of a 55 Offshore. Probably not all that different than the 57. Andreas ...

Re: The twins are onboard.

Good tip Joe. That site is where I came up with the Javelin hoods. I made contact with a guy who had a bunch of them. He most likely has some dash plates as well. Once we get a little farther away from summer I will give him a call. Up until seeing the pics of Andreas's I wasn't sure that they exsis...

I will let you know how it goes.

Re: The twins are onboard.

P1020314.JPG IMG_0028.JPG The starboard Motor has a generator Jall. The box on that side is bigger but you can't see it in the pics. If you think it is a tight fit now picture this. Two gas tanks and a battery all tucked into that splash well too. Gas Tanks are going to go inside the boat t...
