Types of wood and windshield question
I have varnished samples of Meranti lauan and Douglas fir plywood for replacement gunnels. The Meranti matches the rest of the topside. A 1960 ad says Douglas Fir was used in building. Am I correct that the hull was douglas fir and the mahoghany was used on the topsides? Does anyone have a windshiel...

Thank you Andreas for the information. I guessIi will try to reverse engineer the windshield. It has a one piece glass curved windshield now.

Started restoring this Thompson 6 months ago. I believe it is a 1961 Sea Lancer. It has a one piece windshield which is a little puzzling. Not a wood frame. The brass plate says Thompson Boat Company of Cortland, NY. #57719 which is identical to the transom stamp right above it. Does anyone have a t...
