I'm not sure what it is called but can you cut off the bad part of the rib square and replace with good wood and then use another piece of rib over the top of the repair and long enough to over-lap the joint? Thanks for any help

Do the spokes on the 1957 Cruisers Inc steering wheel point up or down when going straight forward? Looking at the Thompson CD the steering wheel on the cover of the '58 Cruisers Inc catalog almost looks two-tone. Did steering wheels come from the factory mounted or were they dealer add-ons?
