fliping over boat
Once it is over I use jack stands with wood cross beams to hold my 1948 runabout up off the shop floor......

1948 12' Runabout
The garwood has a cord in the joints and the sealer that was put over this material is cracked and needs replacing.
1) what is this material made of, it looks like a paper cord?
2) Can I remove it and just use 3m 4200 to fill the joints?

I am restoring a 1948 Thompson Runabout built in Cortland N.Y. The boat was completely stripped of all paint.
