rub rail (again!)
Thanks for the info on the rub rail. With the help of two friends and two of my brothers, we stretched it on an 80 degree day and it went on without a hitch. An air nail gun really helps! Now, I need the aluminum insert and I can't seem to find it locally. I've gone on the internet without success, ...

The weather is starting to turn (for the better!)in the Thumb of Michigan and I'm starting to get antsy to finish up on my '64 Super Lancer. Over the winter, I ordered the rub rail #0109G from Wefco and I need to know how to attach it to the gunnel: nails? screws? How far apart should either the nai...

rub rail
Is there any set length to where the gunwale rub rail ends on the transom? I can't tell, even with all the pictures that I've looked at. Also, what's the best way to anchor it to the boat?

winshield gasket
I just received my windshield gasket from Wefco Rubber(#3638 white) and I need to know if it's correct to staple it to the bottom of the windshield frame before mounting. That's the way the old one came off. I also need the part number from Wefco for the rub rail for my '64 Thompson Super Lancer. I ...

Windshield Frame Reassembly-follow up questions
I neglected to ask what brand name glue is recommended to glue dowels in. Any suggestions? Also, I am unable to find Philippine mahogany veneer in Michigan. Everyone stocks African mahogany. Is there a difference? I only need two small pieces (7" X 14" grain running L to R on long side, 7&...

paint issues
The white paint on the hull is flaking and peeling in spots. Should all paint be stripped to bare wood and if so is there a recommended paint remover? Also, the 1/4 round between the white paint and mahogany is missing. Is this mahogany or maybe oak? How does it attach. Thanks to those of you who re...

new thompson owner
I recently purchased a 1964 nineteen foot Thompson Super Lancer, serial #25525 with a 90 hp Johnson outboard & tilt trailer. The hull, transom and overall condition, excepting the finish is pretty sound. The subfloor, which I believe is masonite, is in bad shape. Should I replace it with marine ...
