Thanks Rami for the help on the dimensions. John, the hinges came with the boat in a box of hardware when we got it. So whether they are original or not i couldn't tell you (this being the first thompson my dad and i have restored). As for the brass carriage carriage bolts they are indeed new. We go...

Blue paint behind Thompson emblem
I was just wondering if anyone knew the dimensions for painting the blue that is behind the thompson emblem. My emblems are currently being chromed and i don't have a spare to use as a template and i was hoping to paint before the emblems return to me. I haven't posted in awhile so thought i would p...

Water stained deck
I'm in the process of working on the decking of my seacoaster. I have a fair amount of water stains on the bow decking though. Was wondering if anybody knew any tricks for removing these stains. Thanks

1960 Seacoaster
It has been awhile since my last post and it occurred to me that i have never posted any pictures. So i thought i would try and do so. We have a 1960 Seacoaster. The process has been somewhat slow but we've been enjoying it every step of the way. http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj30/evaneck/000_0...

Hey all....thanks for all the tips on the keelson. It really helped make things go a lot smoother. I came across another question, this time involving the outer keel. When we got the boat and removed the outer keel it did not extend all the way to the rear of the boat. The keel itself was fairly new...

Thanks for the info Andreas, it has been a huge help. We got our keelson built and almost ready to put back in and came across another question. The old keelson was rotted pretty bad and not fully intact and so we didn't know if it was attached to the transom in any way. So basically was just wonder...

Securing a new Keelson
In removing my keelson i noticed that it was held in by a lot of nails. I was just wondering if nails are the way to go when putting in the new keelson or if i should take some other route to secure it. Also, if nails are the way to go is there a specific nail i should use? (probably something that ...

Removing the Keelson
I have a 1962 SeaCoaster. In the process of removing the keelson and in doing so found that the inner knee, i think it's called an inner knee, over hangs the keelson about 6 inches. Is there any special way to remove the keelson without removing the inner knee? Don't have pictures yet but will get s...
