Re: Cleaning question

You have a little work there. The scarf was made with two tools. The first one is patience. The more useful tool is one of these: http://i1382.photobucket.com/albums/ah251/philco70/multi-tool_zpsmjohg8q0.jpg I made a pattern of the 6 inch scarf I wanted to cut then used it as a guide: http://i1382.p...

Re: Cleaning question

Here's photos of the fall work so far. I got the rib anchor board off the starboard side. The board was shrunk and rotted. http://i1382.photobucket.com/albums/ah251/philco70/20151025_154637_zpsbfqapeav.jpg So I made new ones. The ribs were nailed and glued to this board at the inside stem. I think I...

Unidentified bow light

Does Anyone know who manufactured this bow light or how old it may be? It came from a 1961 Thomson Cortland Sea Lancer.

Re: Cleaning question

Hey Peter she's a beauty. Side rails and everything! I got this cool wooden thumb drive for Christmas last year with all the Thomson catalogs on it. Excellent source of information and photos. I like to see what others have done also. The Internet has many vintage ads that are helpful too. If you go...

Re: Cleaning question

Thanks so much for the help. My plan is to first continue cleaning the dirt out from under the rib ends so the scarf piece has a tight fit to the keel. I made a scarfing rig to get a 5 inch scarf on the ribs. Then glue, clamp, pre drill and screw the rib scarf. Since the original ribs were nailed to...

Re: Cleaning question

I have dried out all the moisture and have cleaned the plywood. since we had the snowiest, coldest winters here in almost 40 years, I'm glad I got the plywood cleaned before it got cold. I just recently got to look at the plywood where it was black. The plywood and ribs are quite solid with no rot v...

Cleaning question

Last September I brought a 1961-ish Cortland Thompson home to clean up and use. I was unable to put it in the garage that day, so I tarped it outside. A pouring rainstorm leaked through the tarp and left gallons of water inside so I immediately put it in the garage the next day and removed the floor...

Thanks for looking. The canvas cover and fold down canvas also have matching numbers of 1-THC-17W written on the labels. I don't know if these mean anything.

Hi Everyone. I am John and new to the Views. I recently purchased what I think is a 1961 Thompson Cortland Sea Lancer. It came with all the original "stuff". There is a little work to do on it though. I plan on taking my time. The tag on transom says Thompson Boat Co, of New York, Inc. Cor...
