My sincerest apologies. Finances and a domestic situation have prevented me from retrieving the boat as promised. I'm really bummed over it.

Yeah, I noticed that, despite the fact that the pdf is labeled as wooden boats 1958-1967. Too bad we couldn't keep an archive of the brochures here on dockside, rather than referring everyone to buy the CDs.

Thanks, Guys. I was just venting. It was my brother-in-law who I went to all excited about my boat, since he grew up boating on the Chesapeake, and I instead got an eye roll and horror stories on everything from a friend who ended up with a huge gaping hole in his boat, to tales of "electrolysi...

Oh, I see. I didn't know that there was a difference between those vinyl materials.

Thanks for telling me about your workplace, but I'm a poor boy, so the only work will be done by the MemyselfandI boatworks.

Matthew, You can check out txcaptndan's restoration of his 63 cruisers inc here: http://www.thompsondockside.com/views/viewtopic.php?t=1244 . In it he can be seen doing the vinyl on his decks. He used a local supplier for the vinyl, but a quick goggle search for MARINE VINYL shows tons of suppliers....

Thanks, Mike. Yeah, I'm actually looking forward to putting my wood skills to work, and don't pay much attention to the doubters. The boat that I'm getting does have the "leak a little at first" syndrome, but I plan on doing whatever it takes to fix that, and as you said, if it still leaks...

Let me should you ever need help with the database. I just completed my BS in database technologies, and always eager to work on projects.

As soon as I get my boat home I'll post the information so we can verify her identity and get her in the database.

Darn wood boat haters!

I haven't even picked up my Thompson yet and already I'm hearing about how crazy I am for getting a wooden boat. Oh, they're so hard to maintain! They leak! They're slow. Blah. Blah. Blah. Stop already! (Groan)

The first thing I noticed was the single seat on the starboard, which I guess might make it list that way.

Although I'm sorry that I didn't get it, I'm happy to see it saved. Now, if anyone else has an inexpensive boat for me somewhere near Florida, keep me in mind!
