I restored a 1963 Cruisers INC Seafarer and used Valspar Tractor impellment paint from Tractor Supply on it. White on top, Ford blue on the bottom, trailer matches the bottom. I found it unbelievabe how tuff this paint is. Did the boat in 2008 and it still looks like the day I put it on. Primer, you...

I went back and looked at the topic. I really didn't expain it all that well. I used green white oak and attached them to the stem of the boat putting spacers in between the laminates so air could go around them and left them dry that way. it took a couple of weeks and I used a fan blowwing on the f...

First let me say, sorry I've been gone so long. That said I made a white oak laminate stem and keel for my Cruisers 202 four years ago. Worked perfect. I did alot of experimenting before I decided what glue to use. I glued pieces of white oak with several types of glue and put them through a rigorou...

Welcome aboard Steve. I have a 1963 202. Your first question. It all depends on how much work you want to do on the boat and how good of a job you want. Painting the bilge is out of the question in my opinion for if no other reason than it wasn't that way when it was built. If you don't remove all o...

It was a 1982 25 Johnson. Great engine but hard on gas. I had two props for it . It depended on how much weight i had in the boat as to which prop I used. The 202 originaly had a forty hp on it. In 1975 the owner decided to put the 75 hp on it. The reason I know this is I have all the original bills...

I have a 1975 75 HP Evinrude on the back of my 1963 202. It seems to be a good match. I thought about putting a motor on it that was closer to the year it was built but decided against it because i just love the way it performs as is. My experience with my sixteen foot aluminum fishing boat is that ...

John. It's a three cylinder 1975 75 HP. It doesn't have a hog in it, just runs better in the third hole. I'm not sure of the prop diameter but I'm sure it's not 17 progably more like 15 1/2 with a seveteen pitch. I'm going to be adding power trim to this boat as soon as I can find a decent deal on o...

I have a 1962 202 with a 75 HP Evinrude on it. I had it in the second hole and the boat did not perform very well. It rode ruff and handle terrible. I moved it to the third hole and got the nose up a bit and it handled like a compltely different boat. It goes about 38 mph with a 17 pitch prop on it.
